For trees to stay in top condition they need to be trimmed from time to time. Dead branches can build up and constrict new healthy growth, branches can end up growing into areas of the tree where they cross and rub other branches potentially damaging the tree or creating hazardous situations. Sometimes disease can enter a tree through its extremities and by excising the diseased portion of the tree the sickness can be stopped from spreading through the rest of the tree.
